Bolesławiec pottery has long been the hallmark of Bolesławiec, a town located in Lower Silesia. Produced since the beginning of the 19th century as a handicraft, it has not changed its original, unique character to this day. People from all over the world admire its characteristic folk, artistic appearance, which is why it is often called artistic ceramics. Although the technology of kneading and firing has changed slightly over the years, its decoration method has remained unchanged to this day. Each ceramic product is hand-painted or stamped. Thanks to this, each product is unique and unique in its own way.
Production and use
All ceramic vessels and other products are made of utility stoneware. Formed, they are then hand-painted and, after applying the glaze, fired at a temperature of over 1,250 degrees Celsius. The high firing temperature and under-glaze painting make these vessels heat-resistant and perfect for serving and storing food. The decorations are applied under the glaze and therefore the ceramic dishes can be washed in automatic dishwashers.
